21st century writing demands a paradigm shift in the way we understand and teach.  Students are faced with an abundance of rhetorical situations requiring additional skill sets far beyond grammar and academic essays. 

With the onset of electronic communication teachers too face the need to upgrade skills. As a teacher of College Composition, I have found myself continually re-framing skill-sets to include ever changing technology.
